Flora of Ceará, Brazil: Portulacaceae s.s.

Abstract This study aimed to carry out a floristic inventory and update the geographical distribution of Portulacaceae species that occur in state Ceará, Northeast Region Brazil. The field expeditions for collection observation were realized between March/2015 March/2021. Six Portulaca have been recorded being identified mainly by habit, margin leaf shape, flower coloration, operculum seed ornamentation. All Conservation Units Ceará: P. elatior, halimoides, mucronata, oleracea, pilosa umbraticola. highest richness was found Stepic Savanna, where all recorded. halimoides had widest with 17 records, occurring various vegetation types, especially Savanna. mucronata registered exclusively lowest number records. Identification key, descriptions, comments about species, taxonomic relationships, phenological data photographs are presented here.
